These are very robust and can hold a lot of mixed media, lovely smooth surface, highly recommend for creating small paintings and journal pages. Wish they came in a larger size.

This is a great journal to test paints, inks and other mediums against different coloured paper OR to plan an artwork or develop some ideas. It's great to see which colours pop and compare the colours and techniques against black, cream, craft paper and white pages. All the papers are thick, smooth and resilient to all mediums I have tested on them, which include acrylic paint, gouache, acrylic ink, and watercolour ink: water-based spays, soft pastels and collage techniques. My only complaint is that I would love a larger size journal with this many paper variations. The lay-flat design does make up for the small size, as it doubles your workspace, and you can work across the page.
